1. FROM JENNIFER

Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of evangelist Billy Graham recently
appeared on CNN's Larry King Live. I was impressed and inspired
by her composed and confident exchange with her interviewer.
Larry King frequently confronted her with difficult and controversial
questions.

I learned a lot that evening about how a Christian woman in leadership
should conduct herself, and I thought you might benefit also from my
observations of Anne's masterful, and full of the Master, interview.

Observation 1: She never avoided a controversial question, but instead,
she deflected controversy with her gentle and well chosen words.

Observation 2: Her answers were never cluttered with the phrase
*in my opinion*; rather, her responses carried the phrase *scripture tells us...*

Observation 3: She sought to answer every negatively phrased question
with a positively phrased response. For example:
Question: *Are you saying that only Christians will go to heaven?*
Answer: *Oh, any one can go to heaven if they place their trust in Christ.*

Observation 4: Though her words could have been disputed by those who
disagree, her countenance and composure could not be.

Observation 5: It was clear that her purpose in every exchange was to deliver
Truth - that was her lighthouse, her ultimate goal. The vehicle she used to direct
her audience toward that Truth was a spirit of kindness, and a genuine sense of
compassion. She was not only concerned with the SUBSTANCE of the questions,
but she was obviously concerned for the SOUL of the questioner.

It was a glorious testimony to not only her Heavenly Father - but also to her
earthly father - whose legacy she is living out with such dignity and integrity.

So women of the Word,
*be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not
need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.* (2 Timothy 2:15)

Blessings,

2. NEXT TELEFORUM: USING THE INTERNET FOR MINISTRY, June 29

Thanks to transcription services provided by Ginny Reeder of Stuart FL, we now
have the notes from our recent teleforum posted. Chris Adams from Lifeway
Christian Resources spoke, and answered questions related to:
How to Build and Maintain a Women's Ministry Program.
See the notes at http://www.womensministry.net/teleforum

Our next Teleforum on June 29 will feature Dr. Philip Rothschild - the only
male behind the scenes at WomensMinistry.Net. Philip is Jennifer Rothschild's
husband and the webmaster for WomensMinistry.NET. He's also a professor of
entertainment management at a state university in Springfield MO.

Philip's topic will be: Using the Internet for Ministry. Philip will share tips and ideas
for enhancing, equipping, and expanding your women's ministry over the
internet. He'll introduce us to free tools available on the internet that
can help you reach out, and reach in, to build your women's ministry. He'll
answer questions about developing eNewsletters, creating basic web sites,
and how to get the word out about your women's ministry or event.

3. Publicity Tip: CAN WE USE A WEB IMAGE FOR OUR PRINTED MATERIALS?

When you host an event, you'll probably need a photo of your speaker
for promotional purposes - perhaps a brochure or flyer will need to be
printed. Here is a rule of thumb to guide you when preparing for a printed
piece that includes a photo. The question often asked is:
Can we just download an image from a web site and use that for our
PRINTED materials?

Answer: Well, maybe.
First, request permission to use the image to ensure copyright
infringement does not occur. Second, keep in mind the image you see when
viewing a web site it often optimized for the WEB, not the PRINTED page. If an
image is not scanned with the PRINTED page in mind, the result will be a very
grainy printed image, or you might see all the tiny squares that make up the
printed image. A web image is typically scanned or reduced to 72 dpi (dots per
inch). As a rule of thumb, as long as the image is 300 dpi and the dimensions
you need for PRINT (or larger), your designer and printer can usually use an
image from the web, or one that is emailed to you. If however, an image is
optimized for the web at 72 dpi, then the web image would have to be
approximately 4" by 4" to create a quality 1" by 1" printed image.

Next week's question: If we can't get a scanned image from the speaker or
special guest, what size of photo should I request from the speaker or special guest?
